The Science Class
8.–21.12.2012
_

The Science Class is a group exhibition of seven Danish artists who work with or around the scientific world in different ways. The works exhibited mimic the empirical methods of science, look at the history and people working with science, or use scientific knowledge directly.

The exhibition explores some of the similarities found in art and science; the use of experiments in order to reach the desired result and the blurring of lines between fact and theory. Sometimes irrational, mysterious, and yet very comprehensible outcomes occur.

The exhibition is a wunderkammer where fact and fiction mix. The Wunderkammer, or cabinets of wonder, were the first precursors to museums where artistic license was often used freely.

Participating artists:
Emil Westman Hertz
Anders Bojen and Kristoffer Ørum
Stine Marie Jacobsen
Lisbeth Bank
Jacob Borges
Jesper Carlsen

The exhibition has been supported by the Danish Arts Council and the Finnish-Danish Foundation.
